Our head coach and our QB lamented scoring 70 points. Part of me says "fuck oregon, they've been running up the score on people for years." But part of me agrees with Pete that Helfrich is probably a decent guy who doesn't deserve a 70-point ass raping.

If you watch the post game interview after the Orange Bowl, Don James was asked why he didn't try to score more points to appeal to the voters. DJ said a bunch of points didn't excite him, he was delighted with the win. And I was yelling at the TV that there is a time to run up the score a bit, including that game against Oklahoma.

The last touchdown we ran the same up the middle run the entire drive. Oregon was taking their DBs and scraping behind the line because it was easy money to stop that play and both sides seemed to agree to be ok with it.

Dotson just planted and made the scraper look like a fool.

He could have, if he wanted to, put in the cheerleaders much earlier.

He did two things, he let the dawgs run for morale and he sent a message.

He knew what he allowed to happen .... and I love him for it.

I didn't hear Browning "lament" that they scored seventy. I heard him lament that they didn't score 77 though.

If you don't want to get ass raped by 50 points then be a better coach. This game was gift wrapped for Helfrich. The Ducks season was already over so the one thing he could deliver on was beating UW again in Oregon's Super Bowl this year at home to destroy the Dawgs #5 ranking.
