Oregon Football: The Final Solution

I'm going to put Oregon back in the playoffs in two years. This plan is totally doable and realistic. There is also precedent for this.

1. Offer Chip a 10yr/$75 million contract. He's about to be door/ass/out of the NFL anyway. Much like Jerry Jones did with Petrino to Arkansas, just take him from a failing NFL team.

2. Demote and restructure Slingblade. He and Chip were a very proven combo. The guy has zero chance of landing another big head coaching gig and he wants to he at Oregon. Restructure his contract over ten years so his salary matches his position. He just did this with Pellum, so he gets the concept.

3. Keep Brady Hoke and give him a raise. Chip didn't like to recruit, Hoke loves to. Hoke failed at his alma mater, he isn't going anywhere.

4. Bring back Azzinaro. All of the fire in the program left with him.

Phil & Pat shoved Bellotti aside for Chip and they had Ernie Kent fired. They pushed out the winningest coaches in school history for progress. Time to fix the mistake. Basketball, baseball, track, softball, and volleyball all have nationally elite coaches. It's time to put the only sport that matters back on that list.

34-38 with one good season equals Rich Brooks, which means failure.

    13-12 at SDSU.

    31-20 at Michigan.

The guy is a mediocre head coach and won't get an offer to anywhere meaningful ever again.

    1) Pull Campbell and Greatwood aside, then burn the program down

    2) Send Tom Herman a pie

    3) Have Phil Knight write him a blank check

    4) Let Tom Herman pick the rest of the staff

    5) Profit?

I'd kill for Petrino or Briles, but that sissified campus will never let that happen.
