To me why people jump on UCLA so quickly? It's always been this way and yet UCLA is the poster child of programs that do less with more. I can't think of another program that out-disappoints expectations.

SC gets a lot of unjustified hype, but at least there is a history to base it on. UCLA?

I'll tel you this: as soon as I heard about that HBO thing with the team, I said this to all three of my friends: "I have no fucking idea what's going to happen this season, but I know this: UCLA will not win the conference."

Safest bet on the strip.

Miami recruits well. Florida recruits well. Florida State recruits well. Texas recruits well.

For the last 10 or more years, the nation has expected with youthful optimism that UCLA will be awesome. They almost never are.

It's been three decades since they won a Rose Bowl, so maybe people keep thinking they are due? Gamblers fallacy? Doesn't help that their talent makes them consistently look above average. I think we call that a cock tease. Powder blue balls every year.
