Scousers are, most generally, people from Liverpool. But, Liverpool had very hard times in the late 70's and early 80's and gained a reputation for lawlessness and poverty that lasted far longer than was justified and scousers have carried that reputation with them, also without justification. In the nineteenth century there was a lot of immigration form Ireland to Liverpool, this being a time when the Irish (and Catholics more generally) were viewed with suspicion by many English people and there's some of that too. “Scouse” is shorthand for a certain kind of cheeky, loveable rogue (but maybe with a murky past) sort of character. Pretty much at the other end of the scale, Etonians are men who were educated at Eton College, an expensive, exclusive and very, very posh school founded by King Henry VI in the fifteenth century and closely associated with the ruling classes every since. Many Prime Ministers and other leading politicians went there. There is a strong suspicion amongst many people in Britain that privileged parents buy a continuation of that privilege for their sons by sending them to Eton to rub shoulders with the sons of aristocracy, wealth, and power. Etonians tend to be rich, charming, well-connected and in the case of King's Scholars very clever. Why do you ask?
