James is good. NOWHERE near the best ever. WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY too many second place finishes to EVER move past Kobe or even Tim Duncan. In line with ZEKE from Cabin Creek (much more than just a similar number of failures). Having said that this (his) NBA finals was one (ONE) of the best ever.

    Puppy three peat

Fuck off no one says he is the best ever. He is among the best ever. Just a matter of where other than 1

Kobe is my favorite basketball player ever and I was always defending him back when the Lebron v Kobe debates were going on like 4-5 seasons ago..... But James skyrocketed above him all time with this last title.

Lebron is #2 and there is no debate. In an era where almost every player is an athletic freak is the alpha freak. 3 rings wth 2 teams where he is the main guy in all 3 wins is better than Kobe being in the back seat of Shaq for 3 titles (it still counts towards Kobes greatness but it isn't the same) and winning 2 himself (go fuck yourselves Pau > Kobe people).

Lebron dominates in hardware just as much as he dominates in the stat books.

I will say that if Lebron stays in Cleveland (no idea why he would leave but who knows) that he could win 2-3 more.

I see him being able to play elite pretty deep into his 30s... because of how well he takes care of himself off season and how each year he seems to tone down the athletic part of his game (since he knows he isn't getting younger) and does the floor general thing more and more. It will help the wear and tear of his body.

But the main thing is because of Kyrie Irving. He almost dominated as hard as Lebron in the finals. He is a winner and if Lebron eventually took a back seat to him they could still win titles.

Pau won the Orlando series for Kobe. HTH.

    Otherwise agree with post.

World Peace won the Finals. Kobe was gagging in Game 7 against the Celtics

I would personally be surprised if James wins another NBA title ... I have a sneaky feeling that Golden State is going to have a HUGE offseason ... and we're about 2 years away from Boston potentially passing Cleveland in the East (assuming that they can get their high end player that they need ... I could see Boogie there very easily).

Lebron didn't even want the ball in his choking hands at the end of the game. Barely clanked that last free throw in. Kyrie did all the heavy lifting. Kobe got the game clinching assist despite morons like you claiming he's the biggest ball hog of all time.

Congrats to Lebron though for putting up a triple double, must have been really tuff against a team whose best player over 6'8" was Festus Ezeli.

Would be willing to get that LBJ's right hand/wrist was definitely injured on those last free throws

I don't dislike LBJ. Seems like a decent human being.

I dislike people who think the sun rises and sets on him and that basketball is played at such a higher level than 20-25 years ago.

LBJ is a fantastic human specimen - but nobody can body up on him like they used to. Barkley is right on the money.

In all fairness, I was kinda just feeling nostalgic. You pressed the right button though.

I thought the double blast at Shaq and Kobe would be the one.

I do respect the talent, wins and rings Kobe has. Just never been a real favorite of mine

I heart me some Kobe. Nobody ever wanted to be great more than Kobe did, not even MJ. He just wasn't quite as gifted as MJ. And nowhere near as gifted as LeBron. If you put Kobe's heart in LeBron's body we're talking Bill Russell jewelry. But LeBron's a better basketball player.
