How a real school operates

According to Wikipedia:
In early 1990, Curry received a contract which contained provisions he disliked, including no raise and removal of his power to hire and fire assistants, .[4] Curry was particularly upset by this since he'd led the Tide to its first SEC title since the Bryant era. He responded by accepting a job offer to become the head coach at the University of Kentucky.
So he wasn't fired outright, but Alabama made him somewhat of a lameduck if he wanted to stay. -
True but normally when you go 10-2 like he did you get whatever the fuck you wanted. He was a bum coach though who was 0-3 against his rival so the school was fine if he were to LEAVE!HeretoBeatmyChest said:According to Wikipedia:

I'd have more respect for Alabama, if they hadn't hired Mike Price to be their coach.
But to their credit, they fired him before he saw the field. -
Even the big schools aren't immune to fucking up, but they are decisive very quickly if the coach does not win. I'm somewhat surprised Kiffin made it out of last year.Your_Mom said:I'd have more respect for Alabama, if they hadn't hired Mike Price to be their coach.

That right there is what makes them a serious football school. They realized they fucked up and made sure to fix that mistake.Your_Mom said:I'd have more respect for Alabama, if they hadn't hired Mike Price to be their coach.

Mike Shula in year three was 10-2 ranked 8th in the country. In year four he went 6-6 and was rightfully fired.
Mike DuBose in year three was 10-3 ranked 8th. In year four they go 3-8 and he was rightfully fired. Dennis Franchione was only there for two years after him then Shula then Saban.
From 1997-2006 Alabama had gone through Dubose, Franchione, Price, Shula then Saban. No stability at all until they finally hit.
That is way to do it. Two of those coaches they fired after year four when in year three they were ranked in the top 10. -
Revisionist history there. They didn't fire him because they realized he was a shitty coach, they fired him because he used school money to hire a tranny stripper and the world found out it was rollin' baby.He_Needs_More_Time said:

Yes, they don't tolerate mediocrity for long, but they lucked out getting rid of the king of poop island as quickly as they did.

You sure it's revisionist history? I always assumed they realized they fucked up and set his drunk ass up.dnc said:

Cold. Blooded.

Big Boy football programs do not fuck around. This is simple shit. Hire and fire guys on 3-4 year intervals until you hit the jackpot.
We are in year 5, and there is no fucking jackpot at the end of Sark's rainbow (75K). -
Big boy football programs and Washington do not belong in the same thread.Swaye said:Big Boy football programs do not fuck around. This is simple shit. Hire and fire guys on 3-4 year intervals until you hit the jackpot.

See 7-6, 7-6, 7-6.
