Simple interest letter, we might be interested in this guy, but we also might never talk to him again. They send out 100s of these letters to recruits.

Insuring against early draft entry by Vea or Gaines?
Qualls*. I like the idea of Vea, but haven't seen anything to get too excited by yet besides his recruiting video. I liked String Jaylen Johnson better than Vea last year.

I have high hopes for Vea, but still.
Qualls too. When I posted this above, I'd forgotten Qualls still has two years of eligibility remaining.
Vea came in as a project, and last year he didn't have the conditioning to stay on the field very long. But Socha continues to slim him down into playing shape, and I bet he contributes a lot more this year. I think we both see the mountain of upside potential in him.

Vea will be the most important player on the field against the Tree. If he can consistently stay on the field and swallow two blockers the way Danny Shelton used to, it'll significantly fuck up their power run game.
Shelton was an absolute monster against them in the '14 game, one of the main reasons that game didn't end in a blowout.
If Socha's work with Vea pays off, it'll be huge for our chances in that game.

Also, it looks like we sent only 1 and not 100.
