Fuck the pac-12 and the ncaa

First the pac-12 creates the north and south divisions which essentially prevent the four northwest schools from playing every year in los angeles (except cal and stanford, of course).

Now the ncaa ends "satellite camps" which further limits our exposure to recruits in other parts of the country.

I don't get the whole satellite camp issue ... it seems like a vast over reaction to me and in the end the ones that it hurts are the kids and HS coaches.

I get that there were some people that were absolutely abusing it ... and it would make sense to perhaps place limits on the number of camps that each school can sponsor and run during the year.

But just listening to what Petersen said today when asked about it, it's really hard to not conclude that he's right on the money.

We weren't going to take advantage of the satellite camp exposure by going on a barnstorming tour in SoCal.

You know who was? Nebraska. Michigan, and eventually a whole host of Midwest schools would follow.

The reason the banning passed is it was in the best interest of every conference with home grown talent- so everyone but the Big Ten.

You can still limit the exposure of the Big Ten while still not being ridiculous on the other end of things.

I don't know how many camps these schools/programs have, but limiting the numbers to 3 or 5 max in a calendar year seems like a really good compromise.
