I talked shit in a previous thread, but I agree. It reminds me of when Oregon played in the Rose Bowl in 1995. I didn't care that Penn St. throttled them in the second half, but the next trip they needed to win, which they didn't of course.

Getting to the tournament is great in itself this year, but their goal next year should be to win a tournament game, unless they win one this year, then they need to win two next year.

Ummmm ... excuse me ... but do they not realize that going to the NIT (where they might win a game) is FAR more special than going to the NCAA tournament and perhaps losing a game?

Misplaced priorities at OSU and among the OSU fan base. Coach Tinkle doesn't understand how to build a program. NEXT year is the ONLY year that counts.

Does Gary Payton's son play for the Beavers? I haven't heard...

Wayne Tinkle and Stephen Thompson's sons play for the Beavs.

Wayne Tinkle's daughter plays for the Bulldogs.

I won't even hate on this, when UW made it to the tourney for the first time in a duckade I was thrilled, even when we? lost to UAB. Participation ribbons are fine for your first tim in a long tim, especially early in a new coach's regime. Next year getting there shouldn't be special though.

This. If the Dawgs get to a real bowl this year, we'll all be doogin' it up.

A first round exit is always special. Also wanted to point out that I had VCU winning in my bracket. I haven't even watched a game this year.
