Garry Kasparov: Hey, Bernie, Don’t Lecture Me About Socialism. I Lived Through It.

Good article. I liked his point about government intervention being used to free the market, not to insert the government into it. But besides healthcare, I think there is a mischaracterization of Bernie wanting to nationalize certain aspects of the economy. I see his problem as being more anti-entrepreneurship than anything else, with massive increases in taxes and a free public university system that will severely degrade the quality of our higher education.

Bernie is going to take on the corporations

If you want to know why (at least in part) Russians turned to Putin and Soviet-lite politics, this is a good place to start.

There was an opportunity to implement capitalism in the Eastern Bloc correctly, and then there was the foolish and oligarch-creating route that was actually taken. The same policies that were rapidly applied in Russia have been applied here, albeit at a more methodical rate. -
Everybody does it?

We're all gonna go, because there's hell below.

Sounds like he brought his chess bored while Bernie is playing checkers. LOL!!!!!!!1

Kasparov doesn't know anything about Bernie except he heard he was a socialist.

The State implements socialism. The State removes artificial restraints to capitalism.doogsinparadise said:If you want to know why (at least in part) Russians turned to Putin and Soviet-lite politics, this is a good place to start.

The Daily Beast is owned by IAC. Chelsea Clinton is on the IAC Board of Directors.

Huh? Sorry, I don't believe that. That's not how business, media, and politics work in the U.S. That would be unfair.allpurpleallgold said:The Daily Beast is owned by IAC. Chelsea Clinton is on the IAC Board of Directors.

Well then I suppose that completely invalidates the author's opinion. If the source isn't Mother Jones or freebeacon.com, the Bernie lapdogs won't even give it a second glance.allpurpleallgold said:The Daily Beast is owned by IAC. Chelsea Clinton is on the IAC Board of Directors.
