Watch McGrew's highlight reel. Not sure how they can keep him off the field this year.

My fear with McGrew is that all we will see is a"McGrew Package" next year where he will come out on the field 5-7 plays a game and everyone knows he's getting the ball (similar to the Wild Swede or Gaskin direct snap)
If you're going to bash the "McGrew bubble screen" I'm out.

McGrew is on punt protect. I wonder if they are going to fake it.

Wouldn't McGrew need to take snaps away from McClutchins? He played well toward the end of the season and has a year of s&c in the program.

Depends on how McClatcher progresses as a WR, both in terms of running routes and catching the ball in traffic. Having a competent WR coach this year should help.

    Is he competent though?

Did McClatcher catch a single downfield pass last year? I only remember him running the fly sweep and maybe a bubble screen or two.

I'd be interested in deadlifts max

I think they are doing 3 rep maxes this year. No single lift max. Probably trying to avoid any injuries.

Yes, he caught one, a 49 yard TD against Sac St.

Considering Chico was a HS RB, and was basically learning the WR position on the job, I thought his productivity was reasonable.

Chico is a baller. He can help this team at either WR or RB.

How about a mclatcher \ McGrew split back formation?

Can smiffy get creative when gaskin needs a couple plays off?

Remember that Polk fly pattern patron boy ran? Polk scored on it once and some other big plays from it.

    Speed kills.

He caught a perfectly thrown deep corner route in a home game. I think it was against Utah State. It was both Browning's best deep throw of the year and McClatcher's biggest play as a pass catcher.

I recall a big one against Cal. It was a mirrored smash concept out of a doubles type formation with 10 personnel. Polk released up the seam and ran right past the poor MLB who was supposed to cover him. It would also be very effective against Cover 2 zone.

We haven't seen Smiff/Petersen run that, but they do love to isolate LBs against RBs and run wheel routes. That worked very nicely for Dwayne Washington. And old man Cooper had a gimme TD on one that he dropped.

I have a feeling this would be funny if I understood it. But I don't.
