Actually he is not. I don't know if he is sincere or not but his mannerisms are weird. Kind of an Elmer Gantry vibe.

Both he and Rubio come off as canned politicians and this is the wrong year for that

Cruz actually comes off as very genuine, strong, and he's whip smart. If this was 2012 he would have ran away with the nomination and beaten Obama. But now that everyone loves the gays and are tired of the evangelical Tea Party nonsense, his brand has taken a big hit, and nobody wants what he's selling.
