Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
I really like Thiel (I still do). I know others don't care for him. (Ir)Regardless, he calls for patience after probably five straight whiffs on the tourney. Basically Romar is a good guy who does things the right way, won't embarrass UW, he's got a contract until 2020!, and we might lose Fultz and the Kiwi if he's fired! Disagree of course

A little history for Arty, there are 300+ D1 basketball programs and that VAST majority do it right. As in 90%+ are not embroiled in regular NCAA problems. For every Pitino example I can give you 20 programs who aren't embroiled in problems. That shouldn't be the bar to which you set success at the D1 level. If Romar wasn't doing it right he should be canned. If he isn't coaching right he should be canned. Doing one or the other shouldn't be a reason to keep a coach.
I love how art sweeps under the rug the Venoy situation as if Romar gets full immunity for how that was handled, as well as how "rampant transfer" haven't riddled this team for years. Moving the goal posts at it's finest. Romar allowed Venoy to play during his sex scandal for all the Pollyanna crowd out there. Minnesota suspended their players, as well as pitino and UL canceled the post season. The stand up romar let Venoy play in the post season. Anyone care to explain how that's somehow able to be explained away? Sex scandals happen at lots of schools. Acting as if UW is immune is ridiculous. In just the last few years UW has had a drug dealer and pimp playing in games. Don't forget that.
Finally I'm so incredibly tired of the loser culture. Games are won or they are lost. Margin of victory isn't for pussies. It's for winners and losers. Having one more point means you win. The idea that losing close is a victory only works in horseshoes and grenades. When you openly say
The biggest criticism of Romar is his frequent inability in the late going to get his players sufficiently organized to set up someone for a high-percentage shot. Be it an in-bounds play, a transition basket or a ball screen that leads to something easy inside, the Huskies often fell back to solo hoists and emotional letdowns.
If he had solid strategy UW would be winning more than 50% of close games, no??? Isn't that what he's paid to do? This isn't a daycare. At some point an AD with a pair will realize that you can win, have a coach who knows how to coach in game, and have a solid upstanding individual and not light your program on fire. There are hundreds of coaches who would agree with me.
Couldn't and could care less about what happens with that mediocre hack of a coach. I hope Missouri takes him off our hands
Who's better? Jerry Brewer? That guy sucked. Molly fucking Yannity? Rudman? Kelly is okay. Blaine Newnam usually sucked.
Condotta is on a beat so it's not apples to apples but I at least think he takes pride in his work. I also really liked Geoff Baker but he didn't toe the company line and kiss Howard Lincoln's ass.
