Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
The 3 best husky defensive players of all time, according to RedditDoogFS
Shaq Thompson, Steve Emtman and cannot forget Lawyer Milloy.
Dashon Goldson,Desmond Trufant and Marcus Peterson honorable mention. Also before my time but Red Badgro is a HoF DE.

Shaq being anywhere on there is ridiculous. As a college player Mason Foster had a better career. The 2010 team would have went 3-9 or 4-8 without Foster. He was pretty much the only guy worth a shit that we lost off the defense from the 2010 team and we saw how bad the 2011 defense was.
Trufant doesn't belong. It's too bad he had to play under Sark and Holt, but he wasn't even legitimately good until his senior year. A buddy that I used to watch the games with absolutely hated Trufant. I always defended him, but I remember it being kind of tough sometimes.
Where these players are drafted and their NFL careers cloud judgment. Nobody could convince me that Shaq was a better player as a Husky than Jason Chorak.
Lol at Goldson. Another guy where it's a bummer he played on shit teams, but he wasn't even really good at UW. I remember him being hurt quite a bit too.
Peters is one of the most talented players to ever play at UW. He only played 2.5 seasons though. Kikaha had a great career and would probably make my list.
I'm one of the few here that feel this way, but Danny Shelton was an overrated Husky. I liked him, but he parlayed 8 sacks against the sisters of the poor into millions. Kind of like Trufant, he only had one really good season. He was an above average/pretty good player before that. Imo, Tripplett was a better DT for the Dawgs. They are different players, but sub Danny Shelton for Tripplett against Miami and I'm not sure we win that game. We for sure don't win the next game against Colorado.
These kind of lists are fucking hard.
I agree that Shaq, Trufant, Goldson, Shelton and Peters don't make a top 10 list of all-time Husky defensive players.
If you're just going by d line he's up there.
I had to go a ways back but I came up with
1) Shaq Thompson
2) Buddha Baker
3) Camilo Eifler
1. Stan Emptermanan
2. Ronnie Holmes
3. Michael Jackson
Honorable Mention: Dave Hoffmann, Reggie Rogers and Doug Martin
I would like to hear @RaceBannon's take on Rick Redman since he saw him play.
Darrion Jones
Tripper Johnson
Wasn't Johnson more of a 3-technique? I don't recall exactly what kind of defense the Huskies were running under Neuheisel.
The rest of those names?
There was a serious 20 year gap without any decent defensive players. Larry Tripplet, Chorak, Shelton, and Peters are on the outside looking in.
Edit: Jeremiah Pharms was pretty scary too.
