Illinois should be a basketball power every fucking year. Chicago to the north, St Louis to the east. They've pretty much sucked since Kendall Gill was there.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:

I lived in Iowa for a couple of years. They have an 80,000 seat stadium that is on campus and full for every game, reasonable striking distance to the Chicago and St. Louis suburbs, good academis, nice college town/sloots - in the shitty half of the B1G - Iowa is a place where a coach with a pulse could kick some ass. Ferentz sucks and should be put to sleep.Mad_Son said:
I was chatting with a buddy of mine (who admittedly played football for Kirk Ferentz at Iowa) and he convinced me that Kirk Ferentz is a good coach - he is just dealing with Iowa resources and prestige.biak1 said:Kirk Ferentz Doog Legend.
It's not a big state. Iowa State is competition, albeit really weak competition. Still there are a lot of schools in small states who have done well (N, K St at times, Arkie at times, Oklahomo, Clumpson).
I think you could say the same thing about Illinois or even Minnesota.
Illinois is in a big state (13,000,000 or so) and their main competition is a nerd school which filters out a lot of players. I don't follow Midwest TBS but Chicago has 9,000,000 people...they have to have a decent amount of football talent. A slick recruiter could siphon much of that off from ND, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin etc. -
Lol. I was thinking about East St Louis, IL.dnc said:
