So if they go 5-4 in conference, boom! they're 9-4. Beat a team that doesn't want to be there in the bowl game and they're 10- 4. Cue up Doog comments like, "We're a ten win team and ranked 17th!! Why can't you be happy with that?!"
The one vestige of old-time Husky football that remained during the Willingham years was that we were still targeting the big boys in OOC games and trying to play an entertaining and challenging schedule. Now we're just watering everything down to take as much pressure off of Sark as possible.

Look at this year even going 3-0 in OOC so if Sark goes his usual 5-4 in conference play Doogs will be talking about "progress".
Next year the Huskies can go 5-4 in conference play and win the Las Vegas bowl finishing with 10 wins.
I've been saying that 7 wins in 2010-2012 = 9 on the 2014 schedule.
The pac-12 schedule, which is difficult this year, flips next year so you get the shitty teams on the road. UO, Cal, UA, WSU, Col on the road with UCLA, Stan, ASU & OSU at home. 6-3 in conference = 10-3 going into a bowl.
My hope is some NFL team pops a nut over Sark and hires him away. Sark would pitch himself as some turnaround genius.

Sark's schedule strengths have been historically weak. He has been here only 4 years, and already has 3 outside the top 10.
Willingham's schedules ranked (according to Sagarin) 19, 5, 2, and 1.
Sark's have ranked 14, 3, 24, and 34. This year's may be easier than last year, and 2014 will be really bad. GSU is the worst team in FBS, and EWU may be the highest ranked of our OOC games.
If you cannot get a better record with a better team, get a better record with a weaker schedule.
We're screwed. Mostly likely outcome this year is 8 - 4. Win or lose the bowl game? Impossible to tell this early. It won't matter; the season will be declared a success. Next year we could reasonably go 9 - 3. Losing the bowl game won't matter.
If these outcomes come to pass, the AD will erect a Shark statue.

I guess Sark is officially waving the white flag regarding competing for a championship next year. 2015 is gonna be special.

10 wins will never feel so shitty in my life.
didn't think so.
That's a C-D-D-F schedule.
