Excluding the anomaly of 91 Don James had teams that played a tough style of offense and an attacking defense with big physical players.

If there were a legit team in the conference they would win it. If there wasn't the Doogfather would win it.

That is today's David Shaw. He is exactly what you people have been wanting. He's in Palo Alto. That's an easy place for the steal.

On that note, maybe we should just go ahead and hire Saban.

Shaw is a Stanford guy all the way. He isn't leaving Palo Alto probably ever. He's not leaving Stanford for UW or any other Pac-12 team. Anyway, he has a contract ...

When was Don James the worst red zone offense play caller in college football?

The closest coach to Don James is at Michigan State. The title is coming. It probably won't be this year, but it will happen before he retires.

Wait, I thought Meyer and Saban were the kings. What happened?

Why haven't you Doog's figured this out and why hasn't the campaign to get him starter?

He's at a school that hates football and he's blick which would totally fit the Seattle progressiveness narative.

Shaw is good, but he also took over a successful program that was already on a roll. Sounds like another coach we know.

I don't think UW will ever hire a black coach who won the Pac-10/12 at Stanford ever again

So is it the coach or is it the players or is it the program?

Seems to change on a daily basis.

Sounds like nobody will ever win it legitimately until it's washington.

    We're all waiting.

In the meantime everyone else will just keep winning it even though they don't deserve it.

Of course, all of our white coaches have been smashing successes.

So the big "BCS" bowls James won are just anomalies, since the Big 10 also couldn't field a "legit team"?

    Fuck you are fucking retarded.

No. 91 is an anomaly because they might have actually been the best team in the country. Stanford under Shaw isn't every fielding the nation's best team except for a once in two decade miracle, like with Don James.

Stanford now, like UW were always tough and solid. If there wasn't a great team in the conference they would win it.

If Adams is healthy all year Oregon wins the conference with ease. Adams breaks his finger, Stanford leans on everyone all year and at the end they win the conference. Are they the best team now that the season is over? Nope, but they don't need to be a well oiled machine like Oregon does to beat decent teams.

The Pac-12 is and has always been dreck. UW was great with Don James because they were consistent which is why Stanford is great under Shaw. They're the same coach.
