To the people who think Wilson is done, remember Newton had a terrible season last year and took a HUGE step forward this season. LIPO with Wilson, give him next year after the offensive line is hopefully overhauled.

Perhaps we can snag Sean Payton as OC when he is shitcanned this year.

Wilson's scrambles and designed runs look predictable and slow. He doesnt play the the elusive quickness he did when he didn't know what his next paycheck would look like. Plenty of times he pulls up, dodges out of bounds, takes off too late - all little things that kill drives and add up to the inevitable 3-7 point loss. His killer instinct is lost - not sure he can ever get that back. If Rawls shits the bed next year with Lynch gone this offense will be an abortion and combined with what they lose on the D line this team will be searching for draft answers to get back to +0.500 football.

Lol, Sean Payton will have every team with a vacancy all over him, even some that don't have a vacancy. There are a lot of bad/average coaches in the league right now he's at worst a top ten coach.

Also, Carroll isn't firing Bevell or Cable. He will go down with the ship a la Harbaugh and Roman in SF.

It is funny how people think that Bevell is just sort of doing his own thing with no direct game planning coming from Carroll. Why is it okay to blame Bevell but not Kent Baer?

Newton's numbers aren't very good. If the Seahawks defense was still elite, everything would be fine. They have been getting shredded by almost every good QB.

Wilson has more pressure on him and isn't handling it well. The team was built on the great defense, which despite it's relatively high ranking, isn't very good.

Luck is having a worse year than Wilson, not like he's done either.
We'll see how Wilson finishes the year

Probably because Carroll has had sustained success at multiple levels. Shit he had success with Steve Sarkisian calling plays.

Then that's a fatal flaw on Carroll. The point is that Bevell isn't a renegade, you don't keep your job by continuously doing what your boss tells you not to. The problems they are having now ultimately all stem from the fact that defense isn't historically good anymore. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jim McMahon and Russel Wilson all have rings because of a historically good defense. When those went away, so did those qb's. 12's don't want to hear that because replicating the defenses performance is really hard to do and won't happen again with this group. Probability theory says that's true.

The defense doesn't have to be historically good, last year it wasn't and they still almost won a Superbowl. From 2012-2014 the offense was top 5-10 in DVOA. This year it might be the worst offense in football.

The defense has a lot of problems, but the Seahawks could have a lot more wins this year if the offense was able to sustain one drive in the 4th quarter.
