Palmer was stepping up into the pocket first half and no one was there. 2nd half, we've stopped him from being able to do that by bringing lb's.

On the first one, there's no gain in being down one when you could be up, and not making it isn't a huge problem. On the second, it was to put pressure on Arizona to make the extra point if they scored a td.
