Ranked in both polls

Let's not kid ourselves....Mike Leach is a better coach than Petersen. Leach builds backwater, bum fuck d1 p5 teams from scratch and turns them into winners.

Petersen inherits Boise state and wins 2 important games a year.

UW has do many advantages over WSU they might as well be from different divisions.

No doubt in my mind Leach would have success at UW.

I doubt Peterman ever takes WSU or Texas Tech to a bowl game

And yet UW will somehow suck less in the AC and secure the 6th win for bowel eligibility, thus forestalling any serious conversation about Peterman for another year.

Gaskin would be a force in that offense at H or slot.

And I'm not so sure he would have success. I'm not saying he couldn't, but more that his leash would be so short and he would probably piss everyone off. Probably would be run off before he could make a bunch of walks on and 2* beat up the rest of the Pac12.

Leech has also pretty much turned over his assistant coaches. Special teams, linebacker, a couple wide receiver coaches, defensive coordinator and one or two more gone. DLine OLine and running back coach are the only ones left from his original staff.

If Pete was smart he would fire himself and Smith and retain the defensive staff.

Leach is average. I won't be surprised at all if they go 5-7 or 6-6 next year. And when you drop back 60+ times every game, your QB is going to take a lot of hits. That team is totally reliant on Falk, who is a very good QB.

Leach's teams are always very reliant on the QB, and he always gets his QB's to play well in the system they run.

If history shows anything, its that the worse team wins when something is on the line. UW will be playing for bowl, WSU for a better bowl after a horrid decade. Pressure on both sides. Line will probably sit close to zero.

I get its a rivalry game, but if WSU can win at UCLA they sure as shit should blow UW out of the water. I'd say UW has a better defense than the Bruins, but UCLA has a way better offense.

Leach is a great coach for WSU. He will have occasional success there as we are seeing this year but I doubt sustained success. And BTW, Wulff actually did not leave him with a terrible team. If not for QB injuries in 2011 WSU would have gone to a bowl game. Leach was awful in 2012 but in 2013 WSU finished 6-7 but was better than they are this season (considering the metrics).

This year they've benefitted from an extremely easy schedule. Currently #66 and that doesn't take into account they played Oregon and UCLA when both were raddled with injuries. If they played UW's schedule or the schedule of most teams in the league Falk might not have made it through and they'd be battling to get to 6 wins. In their first 7 games they played 1 team in the top 50 of SRS. That doesn't include an injury raddled UCLA, Arizona State (outside of top 50) and Colorado and UW to come. They are a good team right now but man their schedule turned out to be easy.

How is it Leach has been able to win with talent Rivals claims is the worst 4 year recruiting ranking in the entire conference?
