In his story in today's Times, Brewer said about Sark: "His greatest detractors have called him wishy-washy or too interested in showing off. But he’ll tell you the dueling philosophies were necessary to get the best out of players he inherited and to minimize weaknesses as he tried to build the program..."

Sorry, but that is not my complaint. It's his poor hiring decisions (holt, cox, cozzetto), and his inability to recruit top-flight OLs and interior DLs while he seemingly has no problem recruiting QBs and WRs. If I owned a flag football team he'd be my coach.

I also liked this gem: "In the big picture, Sarkisian has done what you wondered if he could do: Revise the USC way and find his own way at Washington. Sarkisian still has plenty to prove, but his work is intriguing again. The Huskies’ offense is a thrill ride again."

I love how sports writers speak in superlatives after a win, and smash a coach to pieces after a loss. As soon as an opposing defense (you know, one that wasn't depleted after 2012, like boise state) shuts us down, I wonder what Brewer will say then?

Yah, heaven forbid you get info from multiple sources and then form your own opinion. Better to just limit your contribution to this board to one-line zingers.

Since when have Brewer and Softy provided any actual information about anything?

Might be time for you to familiarize yourself with Rule 7.

I don't get how this has all been solved by one game. Wasn't anything learned by the two USC wins where the same shit was being said? If there is one characteristic that I think defines a doog, that's the inability to learn from the past.

I like to be a passive aggressive pussy like Passion and vote down a post that proves me wrong, rather than actually answer the fucking question.

    I do that.

If passive aggressively voting down posts you disagree with is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Obviously, we need to see more than just one game to make conclusions about the Huskies' potential in 2013, much less the job UW's coaching staff is doing thus far. Still, the near domination of BSU was refreshing for a first game of the season in some important ways that I don't believe we had seen before from a Sarkisian coached team. I'm anxious to see if good aggressive defense and focused near error free fundamentals in all phases will again show up in game #2, this time on the road where Sark as well as most collegiate football coaches struggle to get wins. I would not expect a Seattle Times commentator could ever share my interest or anxiety.

Can't expect to win on the road

You can't expect to win in a hostile environment especially in THIS economy.

I'd like to be a blowhard tough guy on the web that offers nothing like man boobs, but I have a fully functional brain. And at least I don't suck oregon's balls.

Regarding Softy and Brewer offering no worthwhile information (if that is your question), I mostly agree with you. Regardless, I read everything related to Husky Football, and then sift through the mountain of bullshit in order to get the occasional nugget of worthwhile information. For example, a couple of weeks ago I linked a Brewer story where he said that 7-6 is no longer acceptable and Sark's seat is getting warm. It's the closest thing I've heard to a "tough" statement, and it got a negative reaction from the pollyanas on doucheman.com (of course).

I also posted Colin Cowherd's quotes about how UW is lacking on the D-line. First time I've heard that in the mainstream media.

If you've never sucked Oregon's balls you're really in no position to criticize
