Babushka

I understand why people are shitting on him.
- His resume sucks.
- He looks like a pussy.
- He has no charisma.
- The offense sucks.

But I'm sorry guys, if you think there is a problem with the offensive scheme, philosophy, coaching, play calling... that is primarily on Chris Petersen.
Smith is just a pawn. He is here to apply Petersen's scheme, and if Petersen had a problem with what was going on he would do something about it. He is still the head coach, he hears all the plays called during the game and can intervene any moment. Has he complained about the Lindquist BS? No, he has defended it in press conference. Has he even hinted at anything wrong with the offense during his interviews? Nope.

Babushka is the definition of a scapegoat. I hate defending him because I don't think he is good. But that's not the question here.

I don't ever remember hearing Jim Harbaugh's coordinators needed to be fired. I know John fired Cam Cameron, but still

You speak the truth. I am not convinced this transition will work.

I only have but one qualm with your poast (bolded).

Smith as an OC is not good. We all agree. Even @GrandpaSankey and announcers with no skin in the game can see this.

Should the fans ignore the major malfunction with this team when the learning-on-the-job offensive coach is clearly over his head?

P.S. I still think CCP is a numbnut for retaining Smith after the internship last year.

More foundation to support firing Peterson.

So far he is shitty coach with brutal game management skills.

The issue is so clear even @GrandpaSankey can see it.

    Peterman doesn't trust his offense.

    He plays not to lose.

Cyler was not the best QB, but he was the one who didn't commit turnovers.

It's like the parent who won't let the kid take the training wheels off.

I am impressed with the halftime adjustments.

I'm depressed by the need for such halftime adjustments. That he gets into such situations amplifies his poor game management. And he still has only beaten FCS teams with winning records. Not a single win against a winning FBS team is pathetic.
