Wilcox Singles Out Evan Hudson on DL

Wilcox said Evan Hudson was the most productive member of the defensive line Saturday night. Quite the step for someone playing his first college game on that side of the ball after being converted from tight end. Hudson said things went about as he expected and that his conditioning was good at the end because practice is so hard.

How bad would this DL be without Jamora & Hudson? UW is fortunate that Jamora is healthy and Hudson turned out better than every interior DL except Shelton.

If The White Hudson was the best dl player, how come I never heard his name called, or even noticed the fucker?

Granted, I was Ta'amu drunk and Masoli high

He had a nice hit on the back on second down in the red zone before Jamora blew up the drive on third down, and I heard his name called another time or two.

It was too loud to hear anyone's name being called.

Kudos to Hudson, but this just reinforces my belief that for four years Holt and Sark should receive a D- in recruiting interior DLs. Only Danny Shelton prevented an F. (We'll see how Elijah Qualls pans out.)

Tupou, Finau, Banks, Lagafuaina and Potoa'e should turn in their scholarships and become groundskeepers for the women's soccer team.

I didn't understand the sarkgasm over getting Shelton's commitment until i realized he was the first real DL commitment Sark had ever gotten, I think he surprised himself.

E Hudson looked alright in there, dont know how he was buried so far for so long in the TE depth chart.

I used to think that Donny Mateaki (5 star DL) was the most overrated DL in UW's recent memory (along with Mike Lustyk). Now I think Tupou (4 stars) could have that honor.

I will admit, i got caught up in the dooging over Mateaki, that damn scout profile photo made him look like a possessed gorilla

    I knew Mateaki a bit. He's a good buy.

I think a few years ago on Dawgman someone wrote about the S&C program really falling apart after Rick's last year.

    Interesting from Donny now:

Although I was lucky to start in my position throughout all of my years at the U.W, I found that my athleticism had decreased tremendously. My upper and lower body lost a lot of strength, while my speed and vertical seemed to drop as well. After finishing my career there, I spent much of my time researching and experimenting to determine why and how this happened.

It took me a while to realize that the good Hudson was Evan and not Andrew.

My original grade for the Dline was an F, but that is watching the game in the stadium with a few too many.

After watching the replay, the Dline held the line of scrimmage pretty well and forced Southwick out of the pocket several times.

Wilcox said we missed 17 tackles, and I think a lot came from our LBs. They had a lot of tackles on the stat sheet, but they have very few that resulted in negative plays for Boise St. Feeney was a major disappointment.

Don't forget Sione Potoa'e. #4 rated DT in the country. Sigh...
