Another look at Keith Price performance
Keith Price against Boise State completed 23 of 31 passes(74.2%) for 324 yards(10.45 YPA) with 2 touchdowns and 1 INT. His rating was 176.8. He also ran for 25 yards as well.
This was Price 27th career start of his career. How does this game stand out among the rest of his starts?
- For passing yards the 324 yards he threw was the second highest total he had ever thrown. Only the Alamo Bowl where he threw for 438 yards did he had a better game yardage wise.
- His 74.2% completion percentage was his 5th best performance in a game.
- His 10.45 YPA was his 4th best performance in a game.
- His 176.8 rating was his 8th best performance of his career.
- His 25 yards rushing was his third highest total in a game.
I felt like with the play of Mickens and the run game it was very easy to not fully appreciate the game that Price had. When you add it all up this was one of the better performances we've seen from Price. What I liked most was the plays he made with his legs where he ran for a first down on 3rd and 11, avoided a sack and took the easy 4 yard gain, moved in the pocket to hit some throws. His TD pass to Perkins where he avoided the rush, was on the run and threw a bullet right past the defender for the TD was one of the better TD throws you'll see.
Due to stupid penalties the Huskies were always in first and long situations but it didn't matter because of Price accuracy getting the ball to the receivers where it needed to be so they can get their YAC. I'm glad Price had a good first game to silence his doubters, like Fremont said Price has never been the problem.
