"Now 6-4, 245 pounds, it was impossible to miss No. 36 in the middle of the Huskies’ defense Friday. In a dazzling debut, he collected a team-high 14 tackles — 11 solo — including a handful of bone-jarring hits.
Azeem Victor can be an All American. That dude was a brutal fucker last Friday. We should change our D to put Mathis at BUCK, Feeney back at the Bierria spot and Dissly at DE.
If we did that, we'd have a D that, size wise, would resemble a real defense... especially if we had a decent SS.

I can see what youre saying and that sounds great to me, but with what Kwiakowski has done with the culture of our defense in the last year, I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt on personnel...until I dont.

I think that gets the best 11 out there, but I also don't think Feeney was that bad. He made a few plays and brought some pressure. Littleton played fairly well too. The only player in the front 7 that was noticeably bad was Bierria. And when the 2's rotated in, Constantine and Lawyer were worthless.

Completely agree...
That is one thing I've been meaning to bring up. What is the future at SS? It seems like if we had a player there we could have a top notch D the next few years. McIntosh has some size. Seems that Turner hasn't panned out. Need McIntosh to develop I guess. Rapp will be good but he'll only be a freshman next year.
DE: Empterman - dude always shows out when he's in there; Also Mathis is not quite big enough against the run; Mathis on pure passing downs is an obvious sub. NT: Vea/Gaines - Vea was a monster; looked fantastic for his first game. Gaines is a dirt dawg, scrappy, etc. DT: Qualls - He was impressive vs. Boise. First game as a starter and he was a rock; you have to remember, it's not like he was coming in alongside a bunch of good players and fit in nicely, he was asked to anchor the line and he did. Rotate Tupou in.
BUCK: Mathis - he makes so much sense there in my opinion. Unless he hits 270ish, he's going to be too small.
LB: Victor - god damn he looked good; Scott Lawyer, lol. LB: Feeney - He just gets swallowed up in the run game and is inconsistent. Still way better than Bierria. He sucked as a buck, I thought, though. He was always getting driven out of his spot. LB: Littleton - dude actually looks pretty good.
CB: Jones - nobody even threw his way. Dude is a fucking beast. CB: King/Gardenhire - King is the Travis Feeney of the DBs, all the physical ability except for he's naturally an inconsistent pussy. FS: Budda - Pretty good S, but is basically a CB playing S. Still nowhere near big enough. SS: DRECKFEST, play Jojo - Clay obviously sucks... we need someone who can really fill in the runs.
If there's anywhere to be a pussy, it's best to be at CB.
I like Dissly a lot. It sucks that HUNH offenses take the chess out of the game and don't usually permit substitutions / sub-packages going in.
I forgot that Jojo had gotten dinged in fall ball. Hopefully he starts getting more snaps soon. I don't know what's up with Turner, maybe the speed of the next level hasn't slowed down enough for him.
