  • Saying he'd be the next Jordan Polk was probably my worst prediction I've made. As always I'm glad I'm wrong.

He was open all season last year. Now he's actually holding onto throws and making people miss.

Two Wins and MIckens are going to be hell for defenses if this is for real.

Add in ASJ down the middle, holy shit we could be dangerous. Ok, ok, I am dooging way too hard. Time to see how we look on the road.

Mickens had an extra gear today for sure. Lets see him cut across the middle on Stanford's front 7 before crowning him the next Mario Bailey.

I never said he was the next Mario Bailey. I just said that I thought he would have a breakout season.
  • Mickens had over 100 yards all on bubble screens. Kid is electric with the ball in his hands reminds me of when Golden Tate has the ball with the Hawks.

Having Ross, Smith, Mickens and Kasen plus Stringfellow has a nice catch that is tough to defend. Plus no ASJ today which he'll be a big factor.

    He was young last year.

Just keep him close to the line of scrimmage. Catches in traffic still need to be seen consistently.

Fair enough. I was THOROUGHLY impressed with Mickens last-night after the hoopla post 2012 signing and the lackluster performances that followed last year. Just concerned knowing the let-off previously after big wins on Steve's teams.

On another note, the Ross kid on TV looks like he's on fast-forward the few times he touched the ball. I look forward to both of these guys developing

But, and here comes some Doog shit, that actually shows that Sarktard played to his personnel for once. Hey, this kid kinda sucks over the middle, but he is shifty and fast as fuck, I have got to find a way to get the ball in his hands...oh yeah, my favorite fucking play, THE BUBBLE SCREEN!

The bubble screen was made for guys like Mickens, not Kasen, who we threw it to all year last year. Kasen is an across the middle hold onto the ball kind of guy, Mickens is a shifty burner who gets YAC. I like that Sark finally unfucked himself and figured it out.
Agreed. Last night, I mentioned this new offense is much better for Mickens and probably two wins as well. These guys get easy catches, have good blockers on the edge (KW, Smith, Campbell), and are tough to tackle in space. I think future opponents will take this away, but that is where ASJ over the middle should come in handy.

Agree. If Sark can keep his play calling from veering into retard territory, we might actually have a pick your poison kind of offense. Shut down Ross/Mickens on the sweeps and bubble screens? Well, deal with Smith stretching the field and Kasen over the middle. Take that away? You get a steady dose of Sankey and crew up the gut. Pack the line and cheat out to the sidelines? ASJ all day long 7-10 yards off the LOS at the hash marks. But, to execute this it requires shifty play calling and keeping them honest with the run...we'll see if Sark can actually keep this up, or if he goes full-retard pass happy during the Arizona game, just like last year...

Mickens was known for being a YAC guy when we recruited him... which made me confused when Sark tried to utilize him like a Kasen Williams type of reciever.

Exactly. I am sure it confused the fuck out of Mickens also, who then showed his confusion by dropping everything thrown to him last year.

Derek you never said he was the next Mario Bailey you were just reporting what you were hearing. Some of these posters in here need to seriously learn the difference.

I also remember Derek saying Mickens would be awesome in the Oregon offense, well we ran the Oregon offense and you saw what happened.

He didn't have to either. I mean what's the point? All that happens is he gets his brains beaten in by people questioning his integrity.

If people on this bored can't handle the rumor mill they seriously need to get off the internet.

    I'm done.

And here I always thought CW stood for Curtis Williams.
