Interesting thread title. As the article states, the court is actually forcing lawmakers to resolve the education funding issue but "Court to set teacher compensation?????" is definitely a catchier, albeit, totally inaccurate title

Yeah, I know. 5th paragraph... you just needed to dig a little deeper...
In their order, justices took issue with lawmakers’ progress over ... the lack of a plan by the state to address teacher compensation.

Yes, that is one of the education issues they are ordering the LEGISLATURE to figure out. The courts are not SETTING teachers compensation.
The teachers in Washington State are compensated fine. The unions there are strong. If they want more money, let's try a 200 day school year like Japan.
Teachers don't get 3 months paid vacation. They get a salary for 190 days of work and it gets divided up into 12 months.

When you work 60 fewer days per year than most people, you're getting three months (20 working days per month) of extra vacation.
Did you teach Vernon Adams math in school?
You are really stupid. Teachers sign contracts for 9 months of work, not 12. The money earned during those 9 months is spread over 12 so while teachers are working, they are being paid less than they actually earned because some of that money will be given to them over the summer. 3 months paid vacation would mean they are given additional salary to do nothing, which is not true. Coaching stipends work the same way. You work for 3 or 4 months but it is broken down and paid out over 12 months. As a coach, I didn't get 8 months of paid vacation. If you're too dumb to understand this, I can't help you.

CHRIST. You just made my point for me.
And they get paid for 9 months of work, not 12. How do you not understand this? Is it the concept of "paid vacation" you don't understand or do you not understand how salaries work? I'm Guessing you've never had a job that had either

Teachers get paid vacation just like the rest of us, they just get three months of it.
They are overpaid for being 3/4 time employees.
