Is Chris Peterson a puss for not leaving Boise or a genius?

Part of me gets staying. He's got a great thing going. Making tons of money. And basically zero risk. But another part of me wonders where his ambition is. How could you not want to climb to the top of the mountain? Boise can win all the Fiesta Bowls they want. Hell they could sneak in and win a national championship. But they'll never be one of he big boys. They'll never get top ranked recruiting classes. And they'll never play against the best week in and week out. Why wouldn't you want to coach a top 10 program? Or at least a team that could become one.

So, I guess I'm leaning towards puss but I don't know.

I'm hearing he likes where he's at, so it's possible the answer is neither genius nor puss, just satisfied. A complete lack of abundance.

I also recall he has a son that requires special needs and is very happy with the care he receives at Boise.

Smart puss. He's seen what happened to Nutt, Koetter, and Hawkins.

I hear one of his kids has some medical problems and they dont want to take him away from his doctors... at least thats the favorite excuse used by my Boise friends.

If he loves living there I can totally understand wanting to stay.

That's what I have heard as well, and that he wants his kids to grow up in the same place. I believe his youngest kid is in high school, so if he doesn't leave once he's gone, I might consider him a puss.

I fucking hate Boise State and Gonzaga. Gonzaga is my least favorite college basketball team, and Boise State is right near the top for me. They were fine at first, and I even liked Gonzaga when they had Casey Calvary and made the elite 8. I liked Boise State when they beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl too, but their fans think they are elite when in reality, they aren't even close to elite. At least I don't have family members who are Donkey's (LOL) so I don't have to hear how great they are at every holiday like I do with the Zaggots.

Same here, but I hated both within a yr or two of their success. Both are overhyped mid-majors with annoying fans (especially Gonfaga) who if put in a real conference would probably go between .450 and .550 vs. the other teams.

I do love seeing Gonzaga choke every NCAA tournament though. Every year Zag fans go "This year is different!" then they choke.

Says the guy with Romar as his head coach. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
