You can COOK IT!!! that Ackley will rebound with the Yankees ...
Actually, they look like AAAA prospects at worse. That's probably all they are but they're already that.
Also, no Ackley.
Sounds like a win to me.
You can downvote me all you want for this, but I don't think Ackley is as bad as he has been in Seattle. He's been Marinerized. He'll get refreshed going to a team that a) wins and b) he's not the focal point. He was a lightning rod in Seattle and at some point that's just too much to overcome.

Oh I agree. I just don't think he was ever going to put it together for Seattle and there wasn't going to be any better offers out there for him. I downvoted you for calling the two guys they got back Quad A at best when they're already Quad A at 23. There's the possibility one of them carves out an MLB career. Nothing special obviously, but Ackley didn't have a market.

Agree on all counts ...
Getting 2 AAAA players back is unquestionably the market for Ackley at this point. Warm bodies are all they are to me ... I don't have any expectation that we'll ever remember who these 2 guys are.
Ackley's market was shit ... and clearly it wasn't going to happen in Seattle.
If I'm pissed about anything, it's that Ackley wasn't moved a few years ago when there could have been a market for him instead of running him into the ground. But then again, the Mariners love their own players so much that they never can quit anybody until they've run their value completely into the ground.
That was today's water is wet how are the Mariners a bad organization comment of the day.

You're on the right track.
The final solution is contraction or relocation of the team.
Agree with Tequilla. I think Ackley can play a little bit. He went from having a good rookie season to being dog shit. The Mariners organization breeds losers.

Agree, although moving from 2B to corner outfield really hurt his value. Even if he does start hitting well with NY, he'll still lack the power that you would expect your corner outfielder to have.

Great point, I think he'd have some value somewhere as a 2B, not so much as an OF.
The Yankees should start working Ackley in at 2B. Stephen Drew is hitting .199 for the season and Brendon Ryan is the back up. Ackley at least gives them another option.

I don't think he was even that bad at 2B. I'm not sure why they moved him. Oh yeah, Mariners.
