Someone else who likes Gaines? Seems no one noticed he made the 2's the announcer for the spring game never said his name while he was all over the TV screen. Kinda weird. I like the kid along with others our D line will be good and will surprise people. Other young guys like Johnson, Vea will contribute and I think as the season progresses the line will become quite good. I liked Tupou when he played last season and he notched more tackles than Qualls in less plays.whatshouldicareabout said:

At the end of fall camp and before the Hawaii game, Gaines was actually ahead of Qualls as a true freshman. However, the coaches decided to redshirt him, thus moving Qualls into the backup role behind Shelton. Of course, you can look at the depth chart in the spring as a better indication of where the players stand now, but Gaines has really impressed the coaches and figures to contribute this year, even with Qualls at NT. -
Qualls >>>>>>>>> Tupou. The rest of it, we will see. DL may end up being one of the more overrated position groups. These guys are young. Even if they are quality players, it might not show this year.Sledog said:
