This reminds me of when I moved into Mrs Nacho’s house. She had 2 cats that lived in the screened in porch and she kept their food out there. Raccoons were always coming in eating the food so I told I could them to stop by killing one and putting its head on a stake outside the porch.

I worked for a herring bait operation after high school out on Johnson Point. The seagulls would poach the herrings from the holding pen. The son of the owner would string up a dead gull at the pens
