    Practically speaking, that's going to hugely curtail it. The reason why the Beverly Hills PD had a MRAP is that the DoD was basically giving them away.

    True, however, there will still be some forces that will budget funds to have those types of weapons on hand, and some that won't.

    I prefer the police force having these weapons, they just need to be highly restricted on their use. Heaven forbid we have an actual terror crises, it would be nice to have local defenses available rather than waiting for military personel.
