Lol. Fucking Clippers. So I left my house at the end of the 3rd quarter. I almost didn't record the rest of the game. I figured it was over but then I thought well it is the Clippers.
I can't help but think of the last Lakers Celtics Finals. In one of the games the Lakers were down big in the fourth quarter. They did that stupid ass sideline sound where the coach never says anything. Except this time they played Phil telling his team that no team had blown more big 4th quarter leads than the Celtics that season. And sure enough the broadcast had a stat to back that up.
That always stuck with me for some reason. The Lakers didn't come back to win that game. But I never forgot that. That team had good Rondo, Ray Allen, Series, KG and Perkins before he was terrible. How the hell was that stat real? Now part of it is you have to be good enough to get a bunch of 10 point leads but how was team blowing so many games?
I thought about all of this during the fourth quarter of the game. And I realized, oh, that's why.
I don't understand how the Clippers couldn't score. Josh Smith was hitting lucky shots, but the Clippers offense was inexcusable.
Sometimes they are unstoppable. Chris Paul has an almost unguardable step back jumper. Blake Griffin has been one of the best players if not the best player of the playoffs. And yet they couldn't even get a good look for multiple minutes.

They weren't spacing well and they didnt go to Griffin enough. I think they went to him twice and he had 2 layup like shots that unluckily just rolled off.
Also what the hell was Doc Rivers doing having Griffin on the bench for a few minutes to start the 4th quarter. Yeah they were up by 13 but Rockets quickly closed the gap from 19 to 10 before the end of the third.
Another thing is with Paul not having the same burst they should have had little Rivers penetrate more. He has proven he can get to the basket and finish.
Hack-a-Howard should have also been employed more. Houston could not miss a fucking shot. Why not see if you can stop the momentum. By the time Doc did it they were within 4 points. Too late.
Clippers collapse last playoffs was bad but this was historic.

I have to admit, watching a Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan free throw contest would have been funny as hell.

Houston can play defense when Harden is on the bench.
