I still think back to the end of that season when the m's picked themselves up by their bootstraps to finish by winning 2 straight series and thus securing the #2 pick in the draft. Strausburg probably wouldnt have worked out here anyways.

I thought for sure Strasburg was ours. That was the most Mariner week of all time.

All they had to do was lose, and they couldn't even do that right

Ackley was supposed to be George Brett but with less power.

Now he's treading the line of a utility-player unless he turns it around fast.

The fine line between George Brett and Rich Amaral

He was an exciting prospect, a 2B that hits and has the approach to the plate that he had in college is so valuable. Things went downhill quickly. First, they found out he couldn't play 2B so they made him a corner outfielder. He was never a power hitter so already his value went way down. His bat never materialized so really he has just become a shit tier player.

Agree with most of this. I don't agree he couldn't play 2nd. He never looked super smooth out there but he made all the plays and his defensive numbers were very good. I think he was plenty adequate as a second baseman. As a left fielder he's pretty bad.
    THIS.

They converted him to OF full time when they signed Cano...aka the best 2B in the game.

Ackley is Oh fer tonight so far with 2 strike outs.

Starting to feel sorry for him though he's already earned more money than I'll ever see if I can't get out of my velour pants and this damn basement.

Are we all sure that Strasburg is all that great?

If you want too see how Bill Bavasi was a bad GM, go back and look at the 2005 MLB draft.

Ackley has since then had a base hit and a great play in CF.

Zunino is having a good game, got a base hit on a curve ball with 2 strikes and then launched a HR into deep left center. I got a little chub.

Why do you hate Rich Amaral?

Joking aside, I don't know all the saber-metric shit between the two but I'm not sure why we had to keep Ackley over Saunders, other than the GMs ego.
