Todd and Race are both right - up tempo won't work if you only dabble. I read somewhere that the Chipper said it took 2 years of constant usage to successfully instill up tempo at Oregon. Of course there's always the possibility that Sark is such an outstanding coach/teacher that he's figured out a way to shorten the learning curve.
