To be fair, Coleman Shelton 2015 > 2014 and we never really got center right in 2014 so Tufunga could actually be an upgrade there. Could RS-JR Brostek match what we got from RG last year? Probably.
Dex Charles is back at LG (30 career starts now) so it's LT that's probably the biggest question mark. On a scale of 1-10, I'd probably give Hatchie a 4 in 2014 so can Eldrenkamp at least match that?
I think we're deeper and better at TE than in 2014 but don't know if any of them are good at pass blocking in case we need to keep a TE in to help the OTs against better pass-rushing teams (likely Eldrenkamp and Shelton).
But ultimately who knows if Browning will be ready...he's really in the spring semester of his high school senior year so in another 4 months on Montlake, he could get stronger with machine weights / chocolate milk...enough to put on 10 pounds by mid August.
What in the hell are we saving him for... The NFL?
I never know of you're serious. You're saving him from possibly getting the shit kicked out of him behind a green OL. QB's are never the same when that happens.
I'm pretty bullish on our OL for this season. Another year with in the new system and with real coaching will do wonders. Riva was our one true difference maker...and he barely played last year. So what did we really lose? Nothing irreplaceable.
But of course 2017 is going to be special so yeah lets just put him behind the glass until then.
I hope you're right. I agree that we didn't lose much on the OL from last year, but the likely starters this year couldn't beat those guys out. I will be bullish on the OL when I see them doing well.
Eldrenkamp, Tufunga, and Coleman Shelton don't really inspire me into thinking the OL will be very good despite the upgrade in coaching.
I think we are on the same page. It all comes down to Zach Banner...I mean Jake Eldrenkamp. Whoops- how did that happen?

We are 2-3 years away from winning the pac12. That includes the Oline and QB developement. The future Is with our 2nd team Oline and the studs Pete brought in last year.
We havent brought in o-linemen like this since DJ's classes and Lambo's, with guys like Coats, Olson, and UW's LAST real olineman in Kreutz...all pro NFL linemen.. It's been 20 years since UW has recruited an Olineman.
Petersen's Oline recruiting is amazing considering the shitpile tubbalards we've seen since Lambo got fired. Im giddy. Cant wait to roll out a 2-deep that looks like tOSU's during warm ups. Big, mean, nasty dudes who look the part. I think Peter's Oline recruiting rivals any in the pac12, in just 2 years.
Now we just got to wait for Sarks marshmellows to use up their eligibility. In 2-3 years, UW will roll out a 2 deep who'll line up and actually push guys around, create a running game without having to throw the ball around like cunts, to just barely move the ball on the ground.
$ankey got most of his yards on his own, Polk got his yards with Tyrone's linemen. In 5 years Sark didnt recruit 1 fucking linemen worthy of pac12 mention or nfl draft worthiness. (Dexter Charles gets a pass) Petersen has already recruited 5-6 guys who could really develop into something, and develop Sark guys like Crane and Brostek into players....guys who would have withered away under Sark.
Puppy posts a complete turd about Sark and then drops this dime!
See my post about the OL recruiting.
I know Roadie has been voicing concern about the OL but I think it will exceed expectations….doesn't mean I think it will be good but I think it will be okay, not bad.
I think Brostek will surprise and have an all-league season. I think Crane will be decent and Charles will be good if he's not in the doghouse. The tackle positions will be the key as @CokeGreaterThanPepsi noted a few days ago. Hatchie actually had a decent year last year at LT, and if we had him back I bet the line would be above average at least. Eldenkramp would be a backup on the best teams in the league…not sure he's talented enough to be a decent LT.
