That's a cute story about cancer kid but the hardship waiver is often used as a loophole to get an immediate transfer when a player wants to play for someone else
Thank you for your email and for your input on Husky Football. As a UW alum and a Washington native, I understand your frustration and disappointment in seeing a team that you love lose. And like you (and like Coach Willingham), I want to see significant improvement in how our team plays. However, we are still very early in the season, and I am not ready to write off the Huskies. I’m going to give the team my full support each and every game, and I hope other Husky fans will do the same. Our young players have worked hard and are representing the University of Washington. They need and deserve the support of the Husky faithful.
I believe big schools should have the ability to recruit players off any roster in America, each and every year.
I know you are being sarcastic...but all schools should have the ability to recruit off any roster....coaches can do it....players should be able to as well.

The new amendment stipulates that instead of immediate eligibility being an option, the NCAA could grant a one-year extension to the athlete’s five-year clock. Because Khari Harding didn’t redshirt at Auburn, he could theoretically redshirt at Tulsa in 2015 and still have two more years of eligibility anyway.
What's the problem?
I love these extreme deviation cases that tug at our heart strings.
Life ain't fair.
Is the NCAA a communistic structure, yes. Will it fall as ashes into the dust pan of history, more than likely.
Until then, I don't give a fuck. These kids have choices, more than most the people on this board. They are getting a free education, and the hardship allows him to add an extra year.

Nothing to see here.
