Bill De Blasio Is A Walking Circus

HFNYHFNY Member Posts: 5,135 Standard Supporter
He gets to pump up his leftist agenda and placate "community activists" while also getting in bed with the teacher's unions by giving them even more paid holidays:

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2979445/Mayor-NYC-public-schools-close-2-Muslim-holidays.html

But who gets screwed? Non-Muslim families who want their kids to be in school MORE, not less. NYC's public schools already largely suck and it's virtually impossible to fire the bad teachers:

nydailynews.com/new-york/education/city-spend-29m-paying-educators-fire-article-1.1477027

But how is Bill De Blasio a shitty Mayor and a sad sack of an American?

What about the Buddhists and the Hindus? This reeks of discrimination.

The NYC Jews have been getting holidays off that little Johnny Gentiles everywhere else in the country don't.

    Apples and Oranges.

Jews have a long and positive history in the USA and are part of the Judeo-Christian faith (FWIW, I am agnostic).

Also, have Jewish-American kids ever tried to fight America?:

Since 1968, JDL operations have killed 7 persons and wounded at least 22. Thirty-nine percent of the targets were connected with the Soviet Union; 9 percent were Palestinian; 8 percent were Lebanese; 6 percent, Egyptian; 4 percent, French, Iranian, and Iraqi; 1 percent, Polish and German; and 23 percent were not connected with any states. Sixty-two percent of all JDL actions are directed against property; 30 percent against businesses; 4 percent against academics and academic institutions; and 2 percent against religious targets." I don't think that negative discrimination based on religion is the way to go in a civilized, secular society. We can talk about a public school system celebrating *any* culture's religious holidays, I suppose...

Even though I'm agnostic, we are still a Christian Nation and I have no problem acknowledging that whether as a national culture or in the Declaration of Independence / the Pledge of Allegiance.

Besides, if De Blasio opens the door to Muslim holidays, then at what point will other religions (Buddhist, Shinto, Hindu, Confucianist, etc etc etc) what their special recognition? Where does one draw the line? As I mentioned before, Christian holidays are already baked in due to our Nation's DNA.

As for negative discrimination, I discriminate against the broken culture of Militant Islam and its adherents. After the mass murder like we saw recently in France (or Australia or other European countries), it takes a massive lack of introspection to adopt this phrase:

    Dis-a-fucking-gree:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

Huh? Christianity still being the major religion of the country doesn't mean anyone is calling for a religious test to hold office or be president.

In other words, you made a perfect non-sequitur which isn't really an accomplishment.

The only major city that has more Jews than NYC is Tel Aviv. Making sense they would celebrate their holidays.

If you are going to give those fucking Jihadist a day off I want winter break changed back to Christmas break.

    If you disagree fuck off.
