I remember some Niner fans complaining about York way back around 2003. I get the feeling Harbaugh was the aberration when you throw in some of the other coaches they've had since such as Dennis the drunk Erickson, Nolan, and Singletary. Like Road said, they're about to go away and I think the Hawks will own the division like they did from 2004 through 2007.

Sounds like forcing Harbaugh out was only the beginning of SF's offseason follies.

It take a special kind of moron to ruin a roster as good (if not better than) Seattle's with Harbaugh as coach.

The 49'rs should have closely studied the Jerry Jones running Jimmy Johnson out of town goat rope. That worked out well for Jerry. You don't ever run a top 2 or 3 coach out of town. Unless you want to be a loser for a long time.

    Fundamental rule of business ...

When you aren't producing desired results and/or are in a position where you feel threatened or challenged by those underneath you, you not only find ways to push those people who threaten or challenge you out but also try to spin it from your position at the top as it being their decision and not yours. You then spend time trying to find "yes men" to surround you such that nobody questions your ability or results.

Jed York is more interested in being the owner and chief decision maker or whatever of the 49ers than he is of being the owner that hires smart people, sits in the background and allows others to do the work, and then enjoys the spoils. He wants both cake and pie. Rarely does that work out well.
