Miley's play was Foucheian. Anybody is upside...really. Miley was so bad Petersen felt he needed to fake punt against Stanford to give UW a chance at winning. A marginally stronger arm and more gray matter between the ears and UW is in a position to win that game.

Miles is not good and is in no way fun or exciting to watch. Comparing him to Fouch is FS, though.

    Fouch 113 of 250 (45.2%) for 1339 yards (5.36 ypa). 4:13 TD:INT. 85.1 rating. 20.9 QBR. 28.4 adj QBR.

    Miles 219 of 329 (66.6%) for 2397 yards (7.3 ypa). 17:4 TD:INT. 142.4 rating. 48.4 QBR. 49.0 adj QBR. 7-6 record.

Miles is bad but he's twice the QB Fouch ever was. owen8 as a starter.

Fouch makes a fucking dreckfest look good.

    #NeverForget
Miles was coached by Petersen, Fouch by Tyrone.

If you just go by stats, it looks like Miles had a good year.
Miles would have triple the picks with sark as his coach
He would have been used better though. He still sucks, but he would have had a lot less brain lock that came from running a complex (I think??) offense.
    I el oh el'd.

With Miles running the show, I couldn't tell what our offense was either.
It was a mess regardless of who played QB. It's my biggest concern about Peterman.
Which is odd, since Pete is an offensive guy. But the results speak for themselves so far.
Petersen's offense is nothing like what it was with Kellen Moore. Went from a balanced, motion based pro style to the pistol when Moore left, to whatever the fuck we did last year. We didn't huddle, but we also played with no tempo. I don't know how to classify that offense other than being a dreckfest.

Petersen hasn't had a good OC since Harsin either. Boise fans hated Prince and Petersen chose the QB coach, Jonny Smith to come to UW as his OC. The jury is out on Smith and the early returns point to him being an abomination.

Bottom line, Petersen needs to figure it out. Hopefully, it's a mess only because the QB's suck. I think it was more than that, but we'll find out.

I know it was a complete grease fire on offense last year, but dont underestimate how hard it is to call plays as an OC when your quarterback is that limited. Its nearly impossible. Throw in our mediocrity at all the other spots and you wonder at times how we ever got a first down.

Smiff may suck, but Im willing to give him another year before Im calling for the lighter fluid and a Bic.

Shaq was another limitation once the other backs got hurt. He just didn't have the reps, and you could tell there were things they couldn't do with Shaq on that side of the ball.

Shaq probably should have played RB exclusively.

Could have been the difference between 8-6 and 9-5. Oh boy Oh Gee Yippee Yay!!

John Ross played outside 90% of the time.

Our best play was Lindquist to Ross deep.

I must admit something. I got a little too drunk by half of the Hawaii game so I didn't see what happened in the second as I was removed from the marina bar.

I was shocked to see the box score in the morning, never rewatched the game, and just sort of took everyone's word that Lindquist was THAT bad.

Was he really? He throws a great deep ball and looked better than Miley from what I remember of the 1st half.

He couldn't complete a pass. A couple of times guys were wide open and he would skip it at their feet or 20 feet over their head.

That said, he played pretty well in the first half so I am somewhat surprised there was never any thought of throwing him back in. I'm pretty sure he really sucks though. A former coach under Sark laughed when a friend of mine asked him what he though about Lindy starting at QB and said UW wouldn't make a bowl with him as the starter.

Agree with this. RB seems problematic for UW. I thought Lavon Coleman was a complete bust for UW last year and will fall down the depth chart. I don't think DWashington is the answer either as 20 carry/game Rb1. Door is wide open for Gaskin to take a lot of carries, or even Joyner if he has a change of heart.

RoadDawg isn't saying he can't put an offense on the field. He's just saying he's concerned. Some of you need to learn the difference.
