For starters, all respect and credit to tOSU. They are better and smacked us. It doesn't mean we need to revamp anything. We need to continue our greater of strength and mass we started this season.
With that said, what a fantastic journey. Pac12 champs, Heisman, Rose Bowl domination and first team to play in playoff national championship. If I ever get too spoiled where that's not a success, I quit as a fan. Also, to experience Rose and National Championship in two weeks is something I will never forget. Dallas made this feel like a Super Bowl. The fan experience and pregame tailgate were fun events. More Oregon fans showed up than I expected. Not the ideal ending but overall no regrets.
Just like the Pinewood Derby in Cub Scouts, only one boy goes home happy. Everyone else is sad, but eventually you remember the fun (?), sweat and hard work that went into building that little car from a block of wood and you start to feel better.
When this season started, I wanted to beat AZ, Stanford, Huskies, Beavers and for Marcus to win the Heisman. The Natty was never in my mind. All of my hopes came to fruition. This was a banner year for the little program I joined years ago.
There are about 120 other football teams who would love to have been in the position to get trucked at that game last night. That's not intended as a shot at our team, just that even getting there, regardless of the outcome, is something to which all (some more realistically than others) teams aspire.
There are 100 fanbases in the country that would like to trade spots with us. So much fun and that Rose Bowl was one for the ages. To get to experience this run with friends and family was awesome.
Our boys made us proud this year!!! So great to be a duck!!!
Thanks to every coach, player, student manager, booster etc that made this season possible.
Beaver fans, Huskie fans and anybody else who rejoiced after the Ducks loss can have their petty little jollies. But you know what? I don't give a damn. This was one hell of a great season, one that I will enjoy for a long long time and their petty little jollies does nothing to change that. There's no shame in losing to a team that simply played some great football.
This was a great year and yes it sucks that the Ducks lost but this team and staff could have packed it in 3 months ago and they refused to do so.
There are a lot of talented young players ready to step up next year, combined with a lot of talented vets, couple that with a very good class in Feb. and the future is still bright.
To win the NC all the stars must align perfectly, this wasn't the year. MM will not be replaced but never forget, and this is no knock on DT, but he did lead the Ducks to the title game because he was surrounded by great talent. It was Tee Martin who lead UT to the title after Manning left. Something to ponder.
Go Ducks!

I agree, it was a marvelous season.
That being said, the word is starting to get out that Urban Meyer had a ton of help in defensing Oregon. I heard Rich Rodriguez gave him tapes and hints on how to beat the Ducks. He knocked himself out to help Urban. Two other coaches did too(one would shock you). So I went onto an Ohio State football forum to check for myself and there were 12 pages discussing the extra help Urban received. Needless to say, I was disappointed when I heard another Pac12 coach would do that.
Check for yourself. Maybe Mark Helfrich won't care. I happen to.
Well, it's not like he isn't 2-2 against the Ducks. He also recruits against Oregon. Would you rather recruit against #1 or #2?
