Here are the best players I've seen over the last 25 years:
Barry Sanders Andre Ware Ty Detmer Desmond Howard Gino Torretta Charlie Ward Rashaan Salaam Eddie George Danny Wuerffel Charles Woodson Ricky Williams Ron Dayne Chris Weinke Eric Crouch Carson Palmer Jason White Matt Leinart Troy Smith Tim Tebow Sam Bradford Mark Ingram Cam Newton Robert Griffin III Johnny Manziel
Note: Players in bold are the only players who were actually worth being on the list. It's an insult to Barry Sanders to be on the list with the others.
You left out a few guys, but good call on Sanders. He out up some outrageous numbers, and watching his OK State games on ESPN have showed me how dominant he was.

Thread over, Sven wins with Barry Sanders. Possibly the greatest football player of all time, almost certainly the best college player.

Holy crap, how did you miss the obvious Sarkasm?
RoadDawg DGAFATHeisman?
I can't blame him. Sadly, only four of those guys have wound up being good or better in the NFL: Sanders (greatest RB ever) George Woodson Palmer (maybe a stretch to even put him on here)

Cam has a shot. RGIII is likely IF he can stay healthy.
Otherwise, yikes. Manziel might never play a down in the league. Jason White with wheels and a social life.
Vick is a piece of shit human garbage and shouldn't be given credit for anything.
If we are going to judge the accomplishments of brain-damaged, knuckledragging, wife beating, PED-using football players based on their character, then I'm out.
Reggie Bush is the greatest college football player I've ever seen. Certainly better than DAT. Never watched "the rocket" play.
Bush wasn't an electric ST Guy. Ismail was Desmond Howard with speed (Howard won a Heisman). I believe DAT could win a heismman next year
Yes, he was. I remember Bush having some great punt returns. The one against Oregon State in the fog comes to mind. He had one for a TD against UW as well. Howard and Ismail were a little before my time, and I am sure they were electric, but Reggie Bush was pretty damn good as a punt returner.
I am curious to see DAT this year. He should have an expanded role now that Barner is gone, but I wonder how many touches he will get. The Heisman has gone to a QB in 11 of the past 12 years, so I doubt he will win it. He is an incredible player though.
This thread is worthless. Michael Vick is the answer to everything and its not even close.
Vick was an amazing talent, but he didn't put up the numbers to match up with some of the other guys who have been mentioned.
Perhaps. Although with college I think stats seem like a silly thing to point to considering no one is saying Timmy Chang is one of the greatest players ever. Vick performance against FSU in the national championship was the greatest thing I've ever seen. Vince Young was great against USC but USCs defense was awful that year. Florida State had Tech beat at every position but quarterback and their defense was great.
