I guess history and tradition go back only 21 years. UW- 14 rose bowls, 2 national championship VICTORIES and an ORANGE BOWL VICTORY, and um, UW doesnt count its many holiday bowls and alamo type bowls dipshit. Oh, and UW has 4 rose bowls (3 victories and a natty VICTORY) in last 24 years.

PL_SS is sometimes off-base but after doing a search, the one pole that did their voting AFTER the bowl games got it right. Be honest with yourself, what if pole-sters gave the NC to Alabama since they finished the regular season #1 but then your WAR DUCKS!!1@! beat tOSU tonight? Wouldn't that ruffle your feathers?:
"The 1960 Washington Huskies team took an improbable road to the Rose Bowl and national championship. After suffering a 1 point setback to Navy in week three, the team reeled off eight straight league wins capped by a triumph over Associated Press #1 Minnesota in the Rose Bowl. Because the final Associated Press and United Press International polls were conducted after the final game of the regular season, Minnesota is the AP and UPI national champion for 1960. The postseason poll conducted by the Helms Athletic Foundation recognizes Washington as national champions."

My records show Harry Frye got it right too.
Harry was a stand up guy in the 50's and early 60's.

This is like awarding the Cowboys a win in yesterday's game in 2018 when they finally change the catch rule.
You go by the rules that were in place at the time. Even if the rules were FS.

TL;DR == Claim a natty by beating the regular season natty in Rose Bowl, then pop off.

1960 Missouri went unbeaten, AND beat the team that beat UW in their bowl game. Split NC at best
