    Yes.

Big loss for UW. Aside from Crew, our most successful sports program over the last several years.

We could be never win another game (or match) in volleyball, soccer, crew, tennis, golf, baseball, and women's basketball and I wouldn't give a shit. Only football matters. Men's basketball is a distant 2nd.

I like being good at Oly sports, but I don't really give a shit about watching them.

This school has turned its back on the revenue sports too often.

Honestly at this point crew, women's basketball >>> men's basketball.

    Thanks Romar.

Tragic loss. Hoping Woody doesn't bring in some lesbo-friendly dyke coach.

    McGlaughlin recruited some quality ass.

Has anyone has ever seen a non-quality volleyball ass ...

And I would argue a bull dyke coach would recruit some good quality ass as well.

To me, this is usually the stuff that non-alums think. I went to the UW, so I'm not *just* a fan of football. I want us to be good at everything.

I don't care nearly as much about the other things, but they are like the biology department: I want it to be great, even if I don't necessarily want to talk about it on message boards.
Bullshit. I would feel the same if I was an alum.
I'm not surprised because you are more than slightly autistic about football.

I'm all in for a "full" ass, as long as the rest is commensurate. In this case, that's just a fat ass. But upvoted for trying to get the thread back to what's important.

Other Mens Sports are a burden, they are a cash suck away from FB and BB. It also allows crappy ADs to say they are doing a good job when they aren't (Dan Guerrero and his $1m/yr salary). Title 9 says you have to spend equal cash on both genders - so whatever on any women's sport. They balance the budget.

Men's Gymnastics, men's volleyball, Golf, water polo, swimming...fuck all that noise. Pac12 is in all those sports (except gymnastics), I kind of doubt any school in the SEC is in Water Polo, Volleyball or Swimming...and if they are they probably have limited scholarships and shoestring budgets. Disadvantage for Pac12 being in $75K men's sports.

I think it's great that kids can get partial scholarships to swim, run track, etc. College is expensive and all whether you're at a state school or a West coast Middlebury. You guys wouldn't be taking about this if the football team had won big this year. Money really isn't an issue if you actually look at revenues and expenditures. The matter of institutional emphasis may be true, but it's kind of a borderline argument.
