Colin Cowherd - Quook

Yes he's my source. I listen to him during the Dan Patrick commercial breaks as I conclude my morning commute. So this morning he's making the case that Oregon doesn't have to prove anything or be validated by actually winning Monday night. I don't have a real problem with that, Oregon has had a great run and are a great program. No question. But then he goes full quook.

"Alabama has been good the last few years but Oregon is the dominant team of the last decade."

Uh, three national titles is way more than none. Even USC has three. No doubt USC and Bama were not great every year of the last 10 years but that's also the case with Oregon.

Cowherd claims you don't have to actually win a title to be great. Ok, but to be the greatest you do. Then he starts rambling on about Peyton Manning and its time to turn back the dial. Fuck stats and yards and touchdowns. Show me the rings

I guarantee that if Oregon doesn't win Monday their critics will come back out of the woodwork. If they do win its one giant duck cock suck. Winners get the prom queen. Losers get rationalizations. Same as it ever was

Over the past decade Oregon has been very good, they've dominated lesser competition, and won a lot of games, but that is some serious hyperbole. There's a reason the ducks have a reputation for being soft, and soft teams by definition are not "dominant". Over most of the past decade, Oregon has not fared well when facing teams like USC, Stanford, LSU, Ohio State and Boise State when those teams were playing well. To suggest that the ducks are now somehow the dominant team of the past decade requires an agenda, dementia or reliance on fucktarded "advanced metrics" ... or as is always an option, abundance. Forget comparing them to Alabama nationally. Within the conference, Stanford's recent back to back conference titles, and last year's plungering of Oregon by both Stanford and Arizona ruin that whole argument.

ESPN has it's own motives for changing this narrative for their new and improved MNC game, but this year, there should be no doubt that Oregon is no longer soft. The ducks now have the horses to play with physical teams, something both Slingblade and Kelly deserve credit for. In Kelly's later years there, they began recruiting bigger, more physical players, particularly linemen, and this time around, they have the the physical make up to compete with Ohio State, unlike the last time they played them in a bowl game. Oregon should easily win the game tonight, they're peaking at the right time and have by far the best team in their history, while Ohio State backed into the "playoffs" with their third string quarterback and are still a year away from realizing their potential, but still ........ GO BUCKEYES!
