Gonna drop some insider knowledge. I knew it weeks ago, but couldn't poast here.
Just talked to one of Kendyl's family friends. Says KT (I call him that, means we tight) didn't like Pete. Says alot of the team doesn't like Pete. I pointed out it seemed like Danny Shelton seemed to like Pete. Was told Danny Shelton ain't no Steve Empterman (told this by an ex player no less)
I said it seemed like alot of Sark guys were pussies and Pete was too tough for them. There really wasn't a response to that. Kendyl seemed like a nice enough kid, and knew the only way he was going to get to the "league" (that's what we call the NFL) was to get 100 catches and that wasn't going to happen here. So NAU, and 100 catches, here they come.
So yeah, in a way, Miley chased him away. If Miley would have gotten him the ball 100 times, he'd still be here.
It's really not surprising to hear some of the players don't like Peterman. Honestly, he is pretty much 180 degrees from the coach that recruited these guys. He focuses on details, academics matter and football has to be the most important thing in the world for you all at once.
Peterman has said it as often as he possibly can, that this is not an easy process for players. One of the reasons he tells this to recruits and is straight up with them is so that when they come in they aren't freaked the hell out, like some of the current players are that he did not get a chance to recruit.
I wish it could have been a smoother transition, but this is exactly what happens when a leader comes in with a different mindset. It's also proof of one of the many reasons this season was such a cluster fuck on the field.
I agree with this. It's similar to why Arizona State is never a championship team - you always hear how easy it is to recruit to ASU because of the parties and girls, but that means you get a bunch of players who are more concerned about parties and girls than football. That can get you talent, but you need more to win big (a concept that Sark will never understand).

I wish it was smoother too. Some of the backlash is inevitable with a new coach, but I'm not sure it's a good thing. We'll find out.

Smart move. A player looks better to scouts putting up big numbers at the FCS level than putting up pedestrian ones at the BCS level.
And even if Miley was good, Taylor was still a 4th or 5th option. He wouldn't put up big numbers regardless of who was playing QB.
Road we have to wide receivers coming back, that's it. Dont tell me he's our 4th-5th wr, he's the only who can go snatch a ball on 3rd and long and run after catch. Sheesh. We have double-zero depth at WR. Wait till next year and the following
I mostly agree. Taylor would've at least been in the two deeps and if Mickens happens to go down for awhile in 2015, Taylor would've been a good replacement. Or he could've backed up Pettis even though Talyor is only 5'10".
Big WR: Lenius, Renfro
Regular WR: Pettis, ???
Slot: Mickens, Hall as back-up? Maybe McClatcher now?

Clearly, Miley needs to be moved to WR for depth purposes.

It's an interesting topic, managing football culture overhauls.
I think a different twist with UWs overhaul, compared to Texas, is the players at UW probably feel they improved the program and don't need to buy into CPs change. We all would disagree there, but these are dumb jocks, after all.
The Texas players (or Michigan next year) couldn't possibly be under any delusion that they didn't need to buy into Strong's change, because they sucked so bad it got their coach fired. That probably helps with buy-in. UW players didn't get their coach fired, they got him a better job...so why do they need to buy into Cps way when what they were doing worked so well.

Can't be much more dialed in than this.
The reality is that if you want to be good ... and I don't care what it is in ... you have to bust your ass and make some sacrifices to get there. It's easy to not like the people that bust your ass and make you do things you don't want to do. You also hear countless times people that say "I hated so and so when he was busting my ass but I wouldn't be the person I am today without what they did for me."
As was mentioned the other day by Bananas, we haven't seen a single decommit from any player in this class and most likely won't before signing day. Everybody knows what they are signing up for. These issues will work themselves out over time. Short term pains for long term gains.

Leave it to a bRUIN (EL OH EL) to make a great fucking point that I had not thought of before. That is solid chit right there.
To validate your argument, after the Hunger Bowl last year our fucking DC ran away from the press shouting, "9 wins!". That is the type of looser culture that Peterman is having to deal with right now.
Taylor isn't a big loss Puppy. McClatcher can step right in to fill his spot either in slot or outside. More likely slot. Don't sleep on Quinton Pounds either as I think he may end up being wr. Long strides, taller.

Has anyone told our QB???
