Mickens

He gets murdered on here, but in a sea of shit, he was the brightest turd.

He legitimately gave a fuck last night and deserves recognition. If he can continue to run up field after he makes the initial lateral move, he does possess some deadly quickness that can be an effective weapon moving forward. I know that was probably a flash in the pan type of game, but hopefully he builds off that success and becomes a threat in the slot for Browning Carta.

He was one of the only guys who played like he gave a shit last night. He still E-Ws too much, but his talent is starting to show itself.

The thing about Mickens, I think—is that you can see he probably just needed to redshirt a year. If this were the end of his Soph year, we'd be like "oh, big things coming".

Now we're like, "god, what a waste."

He at least gives a shit, I will give him that.

Jaydon, Budda, Kasen and Sidney Jones were the only guys last night I saw that gave a flying fuck what happened in that game.

    And there's your bright spot.

We'll call it the Race Degenerate Gamblers Rule.

Everyone of those guys are back next year, and had something to prove to the coaching staff. Ross had a good game too.

Kasen isn't back ... but he had one last chance to show off for the 2 scouts who were still up watching.

I'm not letting the coaches off the hook ... but the fact is these kids played like they had something to play for.

I was sad seeing Kasen trying to run that long post route where Miley overthrew him. Kasen looked so slow and labored.

Mickens has flashed before. He is what he is. He will still drop crucial passes next year. He will have two or three big games. He will still be a doog favorite because of his smile and charisma and the stupid Seattle media will still ask him about the Legion of Zoom. Mickens is a fucking dink. I still hate him.

    He's Asian?

    I thought he was black?

are we mistaking Mickens' play as being outstanding and intense because he was outstanding and intense, or... because he was simply the only WR that Miles locked onto before the snap on pretty much every passing play?

Just another reminder of a recruit who could have used a redshirt instead of garbage time versus Meatball State.

    Kevin Smith part deux.

I was begging for them to just toss bubble screens to mickens. After the touchdown I dont think he ever saw the field again. He wouldve won the game by himself, that im convinced

Just his general intensity was way higher than anybody else. He had a nice catch to begin the second half and hopped to his feet with fire clapping his hands. I think a few mocked him on the gamethread like "look at the scoreboard faggot" or whatever we like to say.

Truth is, he wanted to win, was showing that emotion to his teammates, and it helped turn the tide for the most doomed comeback attempt in husky sports history. I've knocked him a lot all season like the rest of us, but i'll take him on my team if he continues to have a pulse and run north.

The announcers mentioned OSU was recruiting him hard out of high school and he almost went there. He "loved what they have done with their wide receivers". I know he's not very good, but have to wonder if he's regretting his decision while having to play with Miles.
