I don't think they have a clue how to incorporate running the qb into the offense.
I also think our players run east and west way more than previous years. I put that on coaches. Kasen Williams brought up he thought that they were just way too conservative the whole year. I get that to an extent but I really think it was a challenge to throw an out route with cylers arm.
Our tailback situation is not good either.
Cooper is not very physical.
Washington is a strider but does not have quick feet and maybe the worst vision f any tailback. I have seen others like him before turn out good so there is hope with him I guess but he cannot grind out consistent 5 yard runs. He also blows in pass pro and catching the football. I think they really moved him to tailback because he can't catch.
Coleman seems to understand where to run to but is a step slow and is really an I back playing in the spread.
I think this team needs help from an outside source on offense but I don't know who that would be. -
Couldn't agree more with your first point. Petersen even talked about wanting Miles to stick in the pocket whereas Miles wanted to take off. What ended up happening, was a QB overthinking. Poor arm strength and indecision is not a good combo.AtomicDawg said:I don't think they have a clue how to incorporate running the qb into the offense.

I agree about RB's. I get caught up by Washington's long runs, but he's not a consistent chain mover. The good news is this should be pretty easy to fix in recruiting. Getting Warren with Gaskin would really help. Get more capable backs and let the cream rise.
Scheme wise, I think Petersen dipped his toe into the fad, no-huddle and pistol stuff while wanting to keep some of his old stuff. It will be interesting to see what happens this offseason. -

as long as the kids are having a good college experience, then we know the UW considers football a success.

Hopefully this was the rough transition year we had to suffer through. I actually do believe that. If it's not, there's no hope.

I have to believe this was a transition year.
Washington had the second most rushing yards in the PAC, right behind ... Oregon. 4th in YPA with 4.4.
The Hippie Stoner looking for pot at the state fair only threw three interceptions.
The real problem was the passing game.
There was no offensive identity because there was no offensive motor. Peterman worked to protect the ball and hope his defense would win the day. Against shitty teams it worked ... against good teams ... not so much.
Summed up ...
If you are going to rate a team on wins and losses ... you're a fucktard.
