Smith had a bad game last night - so did most of the coaching staff.
That being said, I can't imagine that it is easy calling plays when the defense knows your QB can't make the throws necessary to burn you for the aggressiveness -

Being down 24-0 to a 6-6 team is unacceptable. Their offense is not anything special and our defense (yes, therr are holes, but not that many) can do better. End of story.
