You can't expect Sark to win with guys that have been in the program not being developed. I mean UW is the 4th most experienced team in the nation. They need to get some young talented blood in before they can do anything.
Youth may no longer be an excuse, but there will be other ones made once we lose a few games. Most likely they will be ones we have heard before. Injuries, step backwards to go forward, progress not always being linear, tough schedule, etc.

I've been around long enough to know that youth is ALWAYS an excuse. Some doog will play the card to justify some level of ineptitude.
My prediction is the freshman wide receivers will play a lot since the older wide receivers have apparently been developed by the assistant coach from Waterboy. "You can't expect to outscore Oregon when you're playing three true freshman wide receivers". "You can't expect the offense to click early in the year when the receivers are so young". "If Price had some experienced receivers to throw to this offense could really be something". Etc.
Perhaps it will be a different position, but you can rest assured there will be a position that is a little young and the doogs will a) focus on that position to justify ineptitude on an entire side of the ball b) ignore the fact there are plenty of experienced players at that position who just happened to get beaten out by frosh/RS frosh/sophs.

Youth. Schedule. Injuries.
The REAL iron laws.
Good call. Some idiot will use youth as an excuse. I just thought of what I think the big excuse will be. Our OL and DL's will suck and the doog excuse will be how hard it is to recruit lineman on the West Coast. We have heard it before, but I bet it becomes more prevalent this year. Cozzetto will probably be fired and he will be a convenient scapegoat for why we can't get any good OL recruits. The wheels are already in motion with that one.
Kim is already setting up our DL being young. He's had hints of it so when they struggle he'll go "guys the coaching staff knew this was going to happen why they brought in so many DL this past class. This is only Tosh second year with the DL. It's like some of you forget how awful Holt left this defense in just two years ago."
Guarantee youth will be brought up on the DL struggles.

We will see how many of the incoming DL from this year get in. Sark mentioned some NCAA qualifying issues today so it remains to be seen if they will even get in.
